About

My name is Mia I am 39 years old and love to travel. I reside in Denmark with my Husband and two daughters – Alma, 9 and Luna, 5.

Since infancy, I’ve been a traveler. Born in Greenland on a freezing February morning, with temperatures plunging to minus 35 degrees Celsius, my adventures began early. By the end of my first year, I had journeyed by dog sled, boat, helicopter, plane, and car. My passion for adventure was undoubtedly ignited in those early days.

We returned to Denmark when I was three, but the adventures didn’t stop there. Throughout my childhood, my parents took my sister and me on road trips across Europe. It wasn’t unusual for me to come home from school on a Friday afternoon and be told to pack because we were heading out for the weekend.

It wasn’t until I turned 16 that I truly broadened my horizons and began exploring beyond Europe. My first major solo adventure was a year-long high school exchange in New Zealand. This transformative experience played a crucial role in shaping who I am today. It instilled in me a newfound confidence, curiosity, and cultural awareness, exposing me to different family structures and educational systems. It made me appreciate the privileges we enjoy in Denmark while also recognizing the unique aspects—both positive and negative—of life elsewhere. It opened my mind to countless new adventures.

After this year, my wanderlust skyrocketed, and I seized every opportunity for new adventures. The moment I graduated from secondary school, I packed my backpack and embarked on a global journey. For the next six months, I traveled solo—but never truly alone, as I encountered incredible people who I joined paths with for a while during my trip. It was an extraordinary adventure with its share of highs and lows. I followed wherever the journey led me, learning invaluable lessons, witnessing breathtaking places, and meeting amazing people from all corners of the globe.

Throughout my university years and beyond, I seized every opportunity to travel. I spent some time living in Spain and worked each summer in New York City at summer camps. There, I cherished being part of the initial adventures of exchange students embarking on their own journeys.

When I met Jonathan travelling became a shared passion, and experiencing adventures together only enhanced the joy. We made it a point never to spend a single vacation day at home, always seeking new destinations to explore. Naturally, we wanted to share this lifestyle with our daughters, hoping they would find the same joy and personal growth from our global experiences.
